Re: Introduce yourself Here!
G'day guys/gals, my name's Tom and i've got a 1982 WB van running a 253/4spd. I've been right into Holdens/panelvans since my early teens and I've owned 5 holdens so far. My first car was a 1979 HZ panelvan, bog stock 202/column auto with faded white paint. After about a year my Torana obsession took over and I sold it to buy a 1976 LX hatchback with a red hot 202/4spd. After that I had a v6 VS Statesman for 6 months until the old Holden bug got the better of me and I bought a 1974 HQ sedan (again a 202/4spd) which I owned for around 4 years until last year when I sold it to my brother (another old Holden nut) and bought my current van which i've got no intention of selling!
My van is my daily drive, although living inner city means I really only drive her on weekends when I head down the coast for a surf. She's one of those ongoing projects, i'm still not 100% sure which direction I want to go with a rebuild, let alone what colour etc.. It's nice to find a forum that's geared towards vans (as well as mysandman.com), i'm sure i'll get some ideas for my van from this place. Cheers!

Re: Introduce yourself Here!
Haha cheers guys, it's great to see there's some real nice WBs around as well. It's funny coz growing up I never rated the WB front and never would've dreamed of owning one but they've grown on me quite a bit, especially since I bought my one. Being a younger guy (24) i've got plenty to learn so i'm looking forward to asking a few questions and reading through the rest of the forum. Anyhow i've got a couple of crap iPhone photos of my van, i'll get around to taking some decent pics at some stage:
She's currently running a 253 with a mild cam, extractors and a beefy exhaust that makes it sound a hell of a lot faster than it actually is , the rest is pretty standard (m20 4spd, 3.36 salisbury, bucket seats).

Re: Introduce yourself Here!
Looks like a very tidy daily driver mate, feel free to start a thread in the MY VAN section and add up your WB's details and some other pics when you get the chance.
A www.majesticvanners.com sticker would really enhance your van too!
Cheers Rob

Re: Introduce yourself Here!
Hi there everyone.
I'm an old Van fan from way back in the 70's. I used to travel to Van shows with my dad back in the early-late 70's.
I was eventually a Vanner with a HQ then an Escort in the early 80's. I was a member of the Escort Van club in Sydney.
Closest I've come to owning a van since was a wagon (for 13 years) so I'd love to find another Van (Ford or Holden, not fussed).
I'd love to see some pics of my old favs from the 70's?
Miss Misty Blues, Innervisions, Checkmate, Detroit Connection? I have so many favs.
Anyway, time to have a look around here.
I'm in Hervey Bay and know of a few around here and out west.
Cheers
Glenn

Re: Introduce yourself Here!
G'Day all,
My names Paul. I'm 34 and live in Mildura Victoria.
Since the age of 16 I've owned 32 cars and out of those cars I've owned several panelvans. 308 HJ panelvan, 351 XD panelvan, XE panelvan, Mk II Escort panelvan and lastly a 253 HX panelvan. Many good times have been had with the panelvans and the girls I've dated
These days I own a ED Falcon sedan that I use as a parts collector for my project. I'm currently restoring a 253 HQ Tonner. This is not your average tonner and you'll see why once I start a topic about the resto in the utes and tonners section.
Anyway, It's great to be here and I look forward to making new friends and contributing to the site.
Cheers,
Paul
