Hey Dave if you trying to make it more contempory don't go putting another set of dated wheels on Street. Could understand big billets but none of the three listed.

My honest opinion stay with the strikers Dave.

didnt you find some strikers rob for checkmate? who did the swap brett or dave

John roach and Dave marsh did the wheel swap when John stripped checkmate. I bought a brand new set of 15x10 and 14x8 strikers to go on checkmate. But been thinking of going a different way with it now.

Since around probably 84 or 85.

Checkmate was built first, Street is a copy of it. Checkmate won the Van Nats in 1982 and was show in other shows years before than but constantly evolved from show to show. Street came a few years later. Both had body work done in the same shop done by Gary Pocketts.

Well I have a nice trailer queen lol had Peter koning come out today from the ASRF the pipes are to come out the back, cut of solenoid for the elec fuel pump, pads to be fitted to the roll cage, but have the problem of the chrome suspension the engineers doesn't state chroming so it can't be put on a permit with all the chrome plus he has a issue with the tramp rods from the jag rear been put in the wrong spot ( diff fighting against itself ) this is where we are at with getting rego for street

A weekend pulling the rear diff out,a few days at the sand blaster than a nice coat of silver paint will fix that.

Dave last night on facebook let everyone know that Street Legal has now earned its street rod plates and will be driven on the streets again and to shows on a regular basis for everyone to see.

With some help from Rob he was able to achieve this without making any changes to the awesome showvan as we know it. (just a tickle of the exhaust system)

thanks everyone yes street is back on the street got SR plates on her, just gotta run the pipes out the back and today i replaced the battery had to install a gel fully sealed battery so actually she might end up being a expensive fix but really wasnt that much acuattly easier than first thought couldn hve done it without robs help thanks again litttle wheels the photos where perfect

bit of a update guys/girls on street, had it at a show last weekend we took out best interiour and best engine bay had a lot of attention people loved seeing her again brought back alot of memories for people and was a crowd pleaser, now shes at exhaust place getting the tail pipes done then we have SR plates for it and they said it couldn be done
