hey everybody im scott im 24 from sydney and have been invited to join by my 2nd dad tony who ive know for a long time now and i will be the new owner of a hq van this saturday im a mechanic by trade and i love my old cars my first car was a 1963 eh holden worked which i gave up for a new modle car an do not forgive myself i currently drive a vt commodore manual v6 also own a 2nd vt manual my family Nd frienda love old school cars and my passion for them grows stronger everyday

Hi all, Roger from Glen Innes northern NSW.  
First got interested in vans as an impressionable teenager in the last half of the 70's. I didn't manage to get one till the late 80's but it was worth the wait. I wanted a Chrysler Drifter but was unable to find one in decent condition, so I ended up with a Sports Pack version. I enjoyed driving it and did many trips and weekends away. Also came in handy when I had too much too drink (now that's a plan B). When it was time to start a family, I couldn't bring myself to part with the van and put it in the shed for about 20years. A couple of years ago I got inspired after going to a car show and dragged it out. The next weekend I start working on it. Now the van is on the comeback trail.... its a long trail.
Great to see so many vans are still around and the culture is still alive.

Great to have another Val Van on here, feel free to start a thread on your van in the 'your project' or 'your van' topics. We love a good build thread with plenty of pics. I would love to see any old pics you had of it back in its prime as well.

It is awesome that you hung onto your van when the family came along, there are a lot of guys here that regret getting rid of theirs when it came time to settle down!

hey there my names brad from perth.am 39 and been into vans since i was 15 have owned many over the years but now down to just the 2.hz 5.0l and a hx 350.have owned the hz for 10 years and the hx for 2 years.(i think the hx is the old ice pick van)its now known as kyuss.will upload some photos shortly

I thought I would put a post in here to say hi and introduce myself. I am Brendan and only a young bloke being 30 but have meet and spoken to a few great guys on here like Geoff Dalgairns, Marcos Thomas and Russell Smith.

My vehicle backround has been mainly with late model Fords but I have had had some Holdens but I have had a passion for wagons and in a way vans but due to rarity and cost I have never owned a van to date but I am working on that.

As I have said I have been into the late model stuff but I like metal and I am teaching myself metal work and recently did a all the rust, panel and paint on a 94 falcon wagon for my wife and will be doing it again to a 97 Ford EL wagon chopped into a trailer and a rare (1 of 46) factory v8 EL gli falcon wagons.

If I can I hope to get a Holden van of any type but there could be a chance to get a Suzuki carry van which isnt the typical van seen at events, is a van and could be a great way to so what I can do.
