WELCOME BEN.
don't worry about it being shining
or rusty and crusty. Its about watching the
build workmanship and love that goes into
every project. .

Re: Introduce yourself Here!
My name is Jeff
Better check first to see whether there is an age limit here
I'm the same age as a 48 215, but better late than never.
Bought my HG van with 161 in 1993, used it for work, towed a ski boat, unfortunately launched the boat, and the rear of the van, into semi salt water too many times.
Took it off the road in about 98, and started restoration a couple of months ago.
This is where things get complicated.......I am leading a double life.....in a way.
My wife and I live in Brisbane for about 3 to 4 months each year, and at our new (old really) retirement cottage in Tasmania for the non winter period. I have just obtained a planning permit to build a 6X9 shed in Tassie, and will start when we get there next week. We are currently in Lightning Ridge, in transit from Brisbane to Tassie.
Plan is, get the shed up asap, and find a project to work on. I will be searching Tassie for a HKTG van or ute; beggars cant be choosers; who knows what I might have to settle on. Do you have any other Tassie members?
I'm also working at the local (Sorell) mens shed with some fellas and schoolboys restoring a 57 Bedford tow truck. This is a "Tuesday Only" project.
Is that enough for a short intro? We retirees can get carried away; too much time on our hands .

Mate, same story except my Van got put onto the back burner instead of sale. My son (Jonny James/SMQQTH) followed my Vanning love. I also was/am into HK-T-G Boat Anchor Vans although I have both old and new these days. Father and son teams are on this forum keeping the Vanning tradition going. Will be watching to see your HQ build up.

Re: Introduce yourself Here!
Welcome and Congratulations Gary!
I look forward to meeting you and now we are entering the warmer months, going on a few cruises with you and David!
Start a thread on your new purchase in the 'your van' or 'your project' sections of the forum. Everyone on here loves pics and build threads. I was lucky enough to get sent a sneaky link to the ad for your van by David, it looks very nice! Someone has put some effort into it!
Very happy that you have got yourself back into a van, I am sure you a going to find it hard to wipe the smile of your face for a while!
Cheers,
Karl.
